Privacy policy for Albert

Last updated: 8 October 2026 · Deutsche Version

In short

  • This website has no tracking, no advertising and no cookies.
  • When you sign up, we keep your name, phone number and message so we can call you and set up Albert.
  • When you talk with Albert, your conversations are processed so that Albert can understand you, answer and remember what you shared.
  • We never sell your data and never use it for advertising.
  • You can ask us at any time what we know about you, or ask us to delete it: privacy@rel-8.ai.

1. Who is responsible

Responsible for your data (the "controller") is:

REL8 [legal form, e.g. GmbH / AG, and commercial register number]
FHK D-J Floor, Clausiusstrasse 16
8006 Zürich, Switzerland
Email: privacy@rel-8.ai
Phone: [a number people can call about their data]

Because we also offer Albert to people in Germany and Austria, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies in addition to the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP). Our representative in the EU is: [name and address of the EU representative under Art. 27 GDPR, or delete if REL8 has a branch in the EU].

2. Visiting this website

When you open albert.rel-8.ai, our hosting provider [name and country of the web host] automatically records technical information that every browser sends: your IP address, the date and time, the page requested and your browser type. We need this to deliver the page and to protect it against attacks. These server logs are deleted after [e.g. 14 days].

We do not use cookies, analytics or advertising tools on this website. The fonts are stored on our own server, so no data goes to Google or other font services. The website only remembers your language choice (English or German) in your own browser.

3. Signing up for Albert

When you fill in the form "Try Albert for free", we receive:

Why: to call you, set up Albert for you, and contact you about Albert. Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR; under Swiss law, consent and the performance of the service you asked for). You can withdraw your consent at any time by email or by telling us on the phone. Withdrawing does not affect what we did before.

Who receives it: the form is sent through Web3Forms [operator and country], which forwards it to us by email. Our email is hosted by [email provider and country].

How long: if Albert is not set up for you, we delete your sign-up after [e.g. 6 months]. If you use Albert, we keep it as long as you use the service (see section 5).

Signing up for someone else: if you sign up a parent or relative, please only do so with their agreement. We will ask them ourselves before we set up Albert, and we delete the details if they do not want it.

4. The voice demo on this website

The button "Talk to Albert now" starts a short test call of at most 30 seconds in your browser. Nothing is loaded and nothing is sent before you press it.

5. Talking with Albert

Albert is an artificial intelligence (AI). At the start of each call, Albert tells you that you are talking with an AI [and that the call is recorded, if it is]. To provide the service we process:

Sensitive information: in conversation, you may mention your health, beliefs or other personal matters. This counts as sensitive personal data. We only process it so that Albert can talk with you, and only with your express consent, which we ask for when we set up Albert.

Why: to call you, hold conversations, play games, remember your stories, improve the quality of Albert's conversations, and keep the service safe. Legal basis: your consent and our contract with you (Art. 6(1)(a) and (b), Art. 9(2)(a) GDPR).

Who processes it on our behalf: [telephony provider, e.g. Twilio (USA)], Vapi (USA), and the speech, language model and voice providers listed in section 4. They may use the data only to provide their service to us, under data processing agreements. [Confirm: providers do not use call data to train their own AI models.]

How long: recordings and transcripts are deleted after [e.g. 30 days]. Albert's notes about you are kept as long as you use Albert and deleted within [e.g. 30 days] after you stop. You can ask us to delete everything at any time.

No automated decisions: Albert does not make decisions about you that have legal effects or similarly significant effects.

Albert does not replace emergency services. Albert does not monitor your health and cannot call for help. In an emergency, call 112 (Europe) or 911 (USA and Canada), or 144 (Switzerland).

6. Data processed outside Switzerland and the EU

Some of our providers are based in the USA. Where a provider is certified under the Swiss-U.S. and EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, the transfer is covered by that framework. Otherwise we use the standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission and recognised by the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner. [For each US provider: DPF-certified yes/no]. You can ask us for a copy of these safeguards.

7. Your rights

You can ask us at any time, free of charge:

Write to privacy@rel-8.ai, send a letter to the address above, or simply call us. We answer within 30 days.

You can also complain to a data protection authority: in Switzerland the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (edoeb.admin.ch), in Germany the authority of your federal state, in Austria the Datenschutzbehörde (dsb.gv.at).

8. Security

The website and all connections to our providers are encrypted. Only the few people at REL8 who need it for their work can access your data.

9. Changes

If Albert changes, for example when errands such as taxis or doctor's appointments are added, we will update this policy. If a change affects you, we will tell you before it applies.
